Welcome to Welwyn Garden City Free Church
We are a lively congregation in the heart of the town with a wide range of worship and community activities based in and around our building.
Our Church is part of the United Reformed Church, one of Britain's national Christian Churches. We have also been registered as a Fairtrade Church. We sell fairly traded products from time to time and serve Fairly Traded tea and coffee.
We believe worship should be about excitement, laughter and awe as well as thoughtful reflection. There is something for everybody within the various services held each month. Our worship blends informality with traditional and contemporary preaching from the Bible in a way that is powerful and relevant.
Our Church is a busy and vibrant place. There is always lots going on and there are many, many opportunities for involvement.
In all that we do we strive to fulfil our mission statement:
To be an open, worshipping fellowship that brings the love of Christ to the people of Welwyn Garden City
Welwyn Garden City was created in the 1920's with a vision for a community that blended housing and work with the countryside and leisure. Amid beautiful landscaping, tree-lined streets and neo-Georgian architecture, residential and commercial areas flourish in a town that has a character of its own.
Mums and dads bring along their young children for play and a chat, parents of school aged children enrol them in after school clubs, dancers make very good use of our excellent floors and a fortnightly afternoon tea with friendship and entertainment is available for all over 50s who wish to join in.
We hope you enjoy exploring our life and work, and we promise you a warm welcome if you can ever visit us in person.
